Vintage Chinese Rice Grain Blue & White Tea Cups & Saucers - Signed - Set of 4

This delicate vintage set includes two teacups and two matching saucers, showcasing the celebrated "Rice Grain" (Linglong) technique. This intricate process involves hand-piercing the porcelain body with rice-shaped perforations and filling them with clear glaze before firing to create translucent "windows" that glow beautifully when held to the light.

The set is hand-painted in a classic blue and white palette with significant cultural motifs:
Shou (Longevity) Symbol: The interior well of the cups and the center of the saucers feature the stylized Shou medallion, an auspicious symbol representing a wish for a long and healthy life.
Floral Translucency: The body of each piece features a sunburst floral pattern formed by the translucent "rice grains".
Traditional Borders: The pieces are finished with a delicate underglaze blue diaper border at the rims and petal-inspired motifs at the base.

Dimensions
Cup: 3" Diameter x 2" Height
Saucer: 4" Diameter

Condition
Good Vintage Condition. The porcelain is thin, light, and maintains a high-gloss vitrified finish. There are no visible cracks or restorations. As is common with handmade vintage porcelain, minor firing specks (tiny carbon dots) are visible on the base of the saucers, serving as authenticating markers of the traditional kiln process.

Provenance & Maker's Mark
Each piece bears an underglaze blue four-character seal mark on the base, identifying them as authentic vintage porcelain from the renowned kilns of Jingdezhen, China. These markings were used for high-quality mid-to-late 20th-century export wares intended for global collectors.

Perfect for a Grandmillennial tea service or as a luminous decorative accent in a Chinoiserie display, this signed set combines storied Chinese symbolism with expert craftsmanship.
