Vintage Condition. This century-old piece shows its history with character. The central well features several small, dark glaze "beauty marks" and typical utensil scuffing from use. There is moderate, authentic wear to the gold scrollwork and some fading to the delicate green dotted border. No chips or cracks. It remains a stunning, structurally sound example of early 20th-century French craftsmanship.

This platter features the prestigious Elite Works green underglaze mark ('ELITE / L / FRANCE'), a definitive factory signature used by Bawo & Dotter in Limoges, France, between 1896 and 1920. Unlike many Limoges pieces that were 'blanks' decorated by third-party studios, this green stamp proves the porcelain body itself was manufactured entirely in-house at the Elite facility. When paired with the red 'St. Martial' decoration shield, it confirms this piece was both made and hand-decorated within the factory walls during the sought-after 1900–1914 'Golden Age.' Such dual-marked examples are highly prized for their documented provenance and superior craftsmanship. Collectors prize these dual-marked pieces as they represent the peak of the firm's technical and artistic production before it was interrupted by the onset of World War I.
