A masterful example of mid-century Argentinian leatherwork, this vintage music and trinket box is crafted from hand-tooled sheepskin (cuero ovino). The lid features a striking, high-relief embossed galleon sailing ship, set against a deeply textured background and framed by intricate gold-foiled foliate borders.

The interior is lined in original, vibrant red velvet, offering a dedicated storage compartment and a mechanical housing for its musical movement. This piece is powered by a high-quality 18-note Sankyo movement from Japan, known for its clear, reliable mechanical melodies. A rare "El Viejo Pop" personalized mark is stamped on the interior wood, adding a layer of unique vintage character.

Condition:
Good vintage condition. The mechanical music box is fully functional and winds smoothly from the base. The leather displays a rich, aged patina with minor edge rubbing commensurate with age. Note: The piece is missing one original metal peg foot and a portion of the internal velvet lining over the music box housing.
